12 months!!

Charlie,

The day has arrived and you are now 1 year old! The best year of our lives was filled with many memories of vacations, figuring out sleeping and eating schedules, getting to know you and your ever changing personality, and most of all loving you and feeling blessed every single day that God has given you to us.

This was a month of many changes, as it always seems to be. You have changed in appearance a lot this month, you are thinning out and getting so tall. You are starting to look like a little boy and not a baby anymore (tears!). You are so busy and all over the place, we can hardly keep track of you. You bonked your head pretty hard and got a big goose egg when I didn't realize you had gone up a couple stairs on your own then fell down them (baby gates went up ASASP!). Even playing with you seems a little harder, you just want to explore and do your own thing, you are gaining independence at a rapid rate!

Here are some of the things you like:

* Food! Bananas, yogurt, cheese, toast, tofu (when mixed with something else!), sweet potato

* Swimming - inside and outside

* Chico

* Play dates and Gymboree classes

* When daddy gets home from work. You literally get a second wind and have the BIGGEST smile on your face :)

* Hiking and going for a run with us

* Balloons - why did we even get you presents for your birthday!!

* Crawling up the stairs and over Chico

* WATER! You drink so much, just like daddy

Some things you do not like:

* Your afternoon nap - sometimes it takes 45 minutes for you to actually fall asleep, yikes!

* Getting a toy taken away

* Sitting in your highchair when you're doing eating but we aren't. You scream REALLY loud (we're trying to work on this!)

* Being up past your bedtime, you are definitely not a night owl

You have been the easiest baby that I can imagine there is. You are not overly fussy and you seem to pretty much go with the flow, you get that from daddy too! This year has come and gone and we look forward to each and every sngle day until your next birthday. We love you Charlie!

Love always,
Mama
